NEW: Community Collection 2026 – September 19
Community Collection 2026, an annual opportunity for local residents to donate their unwanted household items for reuse or recycling, is scheduled for Saturday, September 19.
The event will happen from 8 a.m. to noon in the parking lot at Bel Air High School. People who want to give their items a new home and keeping them out of a landfill can bring up to one carload of donations.
Acceptable items include bicycles, books, cellular phones, eyeglasses, hearing aids, home goods, shoes, sporting equipment and textiles. Document shredding also will be available on site, plus BGE will offer rebates to those who turn in used air conditioning units, dehumidifiers or mini-refrigerators for recycling.
The Town of Bel Air partners with the Bel Air Lions, Harford County government and Harford County Public Schools to put on Community Collection. The items collected benefit a number of local community organizations, including Oriole Advocates, the Lions, Bel Air Friends of the Harford County Public Library, Turnkey Enterprises, JAMSQUAD Cycling and Fresh Start Furnishings.
You can download a fact sheet with more information on each of these organizations and how they support the community.
